When Do New ‘Halo’ Season 2 Episodes Drop? Full Release Schedule

The wait is over — Season 2 of Paramount+’s original series Halo is officially here. The first two episodes, “Sanctuary” and “Sword,” dropped on February 8, but what about the remaining episodes this season? Read on for the Halo Season 2 release schedule and timing.

Based on the popular Xbox franchise, the sci-fi series stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief Spartan-117, Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, and Jen Taylor as Cortana. The show takes place in the universe that debuted in 2001 with the launch of the first “Halo” game. In Season 2, Master Chief John-117 will lead his team of Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant while the galaxy is on the brink of destruction. There is a six-month time jump between Season 1 and Season 2.

The first season of Halo premiered back in 2022 to mixed reviews from critics, and some reviewers claimed that the series lacked accuracy or loyalty to the source material. However, Season 2 is having a much better start, boasting a Rotten Tomatoes score of 92%. “The second season of Halo is pulse-pounding and intense. Where the second season goes remains to be seen, but all indications are that the Paramount+ series has been revived and is still standing,” penned M.N Miller from FandomWire.

“It’s a huge shift from Season 1, and it’s all the better for it. While there are still some parts that are stuck (the character of Chief and an overreliance on talking), Halo Season 2 is a departure for the better from the prior season,” wrote Kieran Burt from Ready Set Cut.

For the second season, David Wiener (Homecoming, The Killing, Brave New World) took over as showrunner and executive producer of the Paramount+ original. The creatives behind the series told Collider they wanted to bring back everything viewers loved from the first season but give it a more grounded and developed storyline.

“I think that one of the great things when you become a part of a project like this is there’s this whole menu of what I loved as a fan that you can bring into the story. We’re in a different timeline, so sometimes we arrive at those places in a different route. But, yeah, I mean, I think that you try to be as true as you can, and also allow some freedom in it,” Wiener explained.
